Terms

Theatre of War: key geographic areas where major battles took place.


Prisoner of War (POW): were members of the enemy armed forces usually captured in areas of conflict.


Air Raid: a warning single used make people aware of a threat.


Blackout: a loss of power that was paired with curfew.


Interment Camp: temporary places of confinement.


Internee: civilian prisoners.


Economic Dislocation: occurs when large numbers of people move away from one type of employment to another.
